Content Editing

Content editing is one of my favorite parts of the writing/publishing process, yet a lot of authors skip it and jump into beta reading or line editing instead. Don’t make that mistake. Your story don’t deserve that.

Content editing examines the story as a whole, focusing on plot holes, character development, pacing, and world building. Content editing helps make your story flow, giving it life and coherency. It also allows your beta readers and editor to focus on what they Taking time for this first step streamlines and strengthens the editing process.

What’s Included:

Before getting started, I’ll ask for a summary of your story and what you feel the strengths and weaknesses of your story are. With that information, I’ll give detailed and focused feedback on any discrepancies in the plot, characters, setting, and dialogue. If something’s not working, I’ll offer a number of ideas that’ll help you brainstorm a solution. We can brainstorm ideas together to fix the issues if you want. Ultimately, my goal is to keep the story firmly your story.

I’ll also tell you what you’re doing right and what I love. Finding hidden gems in a story is a delight for me, and you deserve to know what makes your story stand out.

A one-on-one session where we go over the edits/suggestions and brainstorm solutions after I submit the edits is $27 per session hour.
